This is Carol Krumenacher's 20th year as "Artist in Residence" of the Granary Studio-Gallery, located on her farm at 11101 County Highway ZZ (about 5 miles Northeast of Sister Bay, Wisconsin). Drawing and painting since childhood, she has attended many classes along the way. She started with many years at the Antheneum in Hartford, Connecticut. Upon moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin her days were spent at Marquette University and her evenings were devoted to classes at both Layton Art School and Cardinal Stritch College.

Working in various media throughout the years, she fell in love with watercolor while studying with Jean Crane. The wonderful meadows, fantastic skies, and the ever changing waters of Lake Michigan were a perfect match for that medium. Her travels to distant lands have also provided inpiration. An inveterate experimenter, she sometimes uses tools other than brushes to acheive exciting effects in both traditional and abstract paintings.

She has been involved in the Showcase Gallery since its inception, and was also a charter member of the Door County Art League. From 1976 to 1994 she was a member of the Juried League of Milwaukee Artists, and participated in their annual shows at the Charles Allis Museum and the West Bend Gallery. She received three "Best of Show" awards during those years. Other Door County Wisconsin galleries where her work has been exhibited include the Miller Art Center, The Paint Box Gallery and the Hardy Gallery.
